Disassembly and Assembly

1. Before disassembly, mark the mating surfaces of the housings. During reassembly, align the housings to these marks.

2. Refer to the exploded view for disassembly and assembly. Assemble the parts in the directions and relative positions as shown.
   Note: The directions of the rotor housing (item 9), rotor sleeve (item 10), and two rotor housing gaskets (item 8) are shown for standard right had rotation starters. For left hand rotation starters, the directions of these four parts are opposite from the exploded view.

3. Lubricate the gears (items 6, 31), and pilot bearing (item 36) with Texaco Multipurpose 2 grease or equal.

Inspection Before Removal From The Engine

1. The interior of the air motor of the model 600-H can be exposed for cleaning and rotor van (item 12) replacement without removing the starter from the engine.

2. Remove the end plate subassembly (item 13 through 20) as a unit by removing the six end plate bolts (item 16).

Refer to PSI Bulletin Number STR-04.

2. Specify complete starter part number and serial number when ordering replacement parts:

   Part Number:  600-H-RH4
   600-H is the Model Number and RH4 is the drive Number

3. Order by PSI part number and description from the Replacement Parts List.

4. Order from your nearest PSI dealer for from the PSI factory.
